Draft National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)

In the NCAA there are well over 1000 schools across the United States of America and Simon Fraser University the one NCAA school in British-Columbia, Canada. The NCAA is broken down into three divisions:

Division I has the largest student bodies, manage the largest athletics budgets and offer the most athletics scholarships among the three. Div. I golf is considered the pinnacle of competitive collegiate golf and prioritizes athletics. Teams in Div. I cannot be relegated so it is worth understanding that just because a school may be Div. I it does not mean they will have a strong team.

Division II provide a similarly high level of competition but also opportunities through academic achievement. Div. II provides a more balanced experience as student athletes learn and develop through high-level athletics competition, academics and community engagement.

Division III are typically smaller liberal arts institutions that prioritize academics over athletics. Div. III does not offer athletic scholarship emphasizing the importance of an education first student-athlete experience. They do offer financial aid packages to student athletes based on their academic achievements and financial need.
